We are moving right along on our Gilbertsville barn remodel. This week, we’ve been focused on the electrical and lighting rough-in, HVAC rough-in, and plumbing rough-in as we work toward the next big stage of the project: insulation and drywall.

There’s a lot that goes on behind the walls before they ever get closed up. Making sure the electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting locations, and all the little details are right now makes a big difference in how the finished space comes together.

Custom building takes time, and that’s something we’re perfectly fine with. We’d rather take the extra time now to work through the details and make sure things are done right than rush through a stage just to move the schedule along. The work happening now may eventually be hidden behind drywall, but it has a direct impact on the quality of the finished product.

We’re getting close to covering up a lot of the work we’ve put into this old barn, and it’s going to be exciting to see the spaces really start taking shape.

Follow along as we continue transforming this Gilbertsville barn and move into insulation, drywall, and eventually the finishes that bring it all together.
