At Marvel Builders, we’ve had a busy and productive summer, tackling both basement and bathroom renovations that showcase our commitment to quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. In this blog post, we’ll dive into two of our current projects: a basement renovation in Pottstown and a master bathroom remodel in Douglassville.
Basement Renovation in Pottstown: From Moisture Issues to a Fresh Start
Basements can be tricky spaces, especially when moisture and age have taken their toll. Our latest project in Pottstown is a prime example. The basement had been finished decades ago, but the space was showing signs of wear, including moisture and mold issues. We knew that before any new work could begin, it was essential to address these underlying concerns to ensure a healthy and stable environment.
After taking care of the moisture problems and doing a thorough clean-up, we moved on to the renovation itself. We’ve completed the rough electrical work, hung new drywall, and are currently spackling and taping the walls. This phase is always exciting because you can really start to see the transformation take shape. The fresh, clean lines of new drywall give the space an entirely different feel, and it’s satisfying to know that we’re building something solid from the ground up.
As we continue, the basement will undergo more finishing touches, eventually turning into a refreshed, versatile living space for the homeowners. Stay tuned as we bring this project closer to completion!
Master Bathroom Remodel in Douglassville: Correcting a Backward Installation
Bathrooms are one of our favorite spaces to remodel because they offer the perfect opportunity to blend function and style. Our latest project in Douglassville has a bit of an unusual backstory. The homeowners had a tub installed by another builder less than five years ago, but there was a significant problem: the tub was installed backwards! While it was certainly a unique installation, it wasn’t very practical or comfortable for the homeowners.
When they called us in, they were looking for a solution that didn’t just fix the problem, but also elevated the look and feel of the entire space. We’re now in the process of giving this bathroom the custom makeover it deserves. First, we’re removing the old tub and platform and roughing in a new freestanding tub, which will create a more open and luxurious feel.
We’re also installing custom pebble flat ground tile—a feature that adds texture and warmth to the design while keeping it stylish and contemporary. On top of that, we’ll be adding solid surface wainscoting to the newly created bath alcove, giving the space a polished, high-end finish. And yes, we’re making sure the faucet is installed correctly this time! This project is all about combining beauty with practical function to create a space the homeowners will truly love.
