Things are starting to look a little different at our Gilbertsville renovation.
Last week we wrapped up the framing details, rough plumbing, electrical and mechanical work, along with our pre-insulation and pre-drywall checks. This week, the insulation is complete and we’ve officially moved into drywall.
With a second-floor renovation like this, getting drywall into the house can be a project of its own. Rather than trying to wrestle full sheets up stairs and around corners, the drywall was delivered by boom truck and loaded directly through the second-floor dormer.
Once everything was inside and staged, we started hanging board. This is always a good point in a renovation because the rooms finally start taking shape. After weeks of looking at framing, wiring, plumbing and insulation, you can actually start to see the finished spaces.
There’s still plenty of work ahead—finishing drywall, trim, flooring, cabinetry, fixtures and all the details that bring the project together—but getting the walls closed up is a big milestone.
Follow along as we keep moving through this whole-home renovation in Gilbertsville, PA.
