This week, we started on the interior demolition of an ongoing, phased project in Gilbertsville. This is a full interior demo of the second floor- down to the studs (and then some).

Everything came out – trims, doors, flooring, fixtures, cabinets, drywall, insulation- all the way to the framing. Once the framing was exposed we were able to have a good look at the condition of the partition framing and the electrical. Not great.

Upon further investigation, we found many electrical fire hazards and framing insufficiencies, which lead us to reviewing the conditions with the owner. The electrical and framing are now being all reworked as well.

When you build to last sometimes you have to have difficult phone calls to break less than ideal news to a homeowner. Nobody wants to find out that their project is a fire waiting to happen. They trust us to identify and fix the problems though, which is what keeps up moving and motivated to give our customers peace of mind. Thats the difference – we don’t cover up an issue, we bring it to light and find a remedy.

On top of an in depth demo, August is bearing down in full force as the interior temps rose to 99 degrees! Our guys are tough, determined and focused. Even with the heat and humidity they stay locked in and keep the project moving in the right direction.

Stay tuned as we put Humpty dumpty back together again!
