Beautiful tile is only part of a quality bathroom remodel.

On this recent bathroom renovation, we installed Schluter® DITRA beneath the tile floor before setting a single tile. It’s a step many installers skip, but it’s one we believe is worth doing right.

Here’s why.

Built to help prevent cracked tile and grout.

Wood subfloors naturally expand, contract, and flex over time. DITRA acts as an uncoupling membrane, helping isolate the tile from those movements. That means less stress on the tile installation and a lower risk of cracked grout or tile down the road.

Moisture protection.

Bathrooms see plenty of water. When installed as part of the Schluter system, DITRA provides a waterproof layer beneath the tile, helping protect the subfloor from moisture intrusion.

A better foundation.

We don’t believe great tile work starts with the tile—it starts with what’s underneath it. A properly prepared subfloor and a premium uncoupling membrane create the foundation for a floor that’s built to last.

Why we use it.

There are cheaper ways to install tile. We choose products like Schluter DITRA because we want our bathroom remodels to perform as well years from now as they do the day we finish them.

It’s one of those details you’ll never see once the project is complete—but it’s one of the reasons we’re confident standing behind our work.

If you’re planning a bathroom remodel in Pottstown, Douglassville, Phoenixville, Limerick, Royersford, or the surrounding area, we’d love to show you what goes into building a bathroom that’s made to last.
